This favorite flower (also called the ‘purple coneflower’) is known for its benefits of boosting the immune system & fighting those nasty colds! In my research, I was excited to find out that a strain of Echinacea called “Angustifolia” has been successfully studied and shown to be a powerful natural remedy for anxiety, stress, and tension. Another thing to add to our Calmfidence® arsenal!
The root of this strain contains substances that bind to specific brain receptors that tell the body to ‘calm down!’. This is recommended for occasional anxiety associated with public speaking, air travel, interviews and other stressful events. A low dose of approximately 20 mg is needed – and it’s non-drowsy! Some of the research I’ve seen even shows that this perennial plant can help with sweating, upset stomach and trouble sleeping for an extra dose of Calmfidence®.
So, how can you reap the benefits of all this flower power?
- Drink tea that contains Echinacea – Yogi Tea is one of my favorites.
- Add into your daily routine as a supplement (powder or capsule form) from your favorite health food store*
- Throat sprays or lozenges.
- Plant in your garden among wildflowers. These big & bright flowers (in the daisy family) bloom from June until frost. They are easy to grow and makes beautiful cut flowers as a centerpiece or gift. As a perennial, they’ll return year after year!
