- Project: Volume up! Speak from your diaphragm (from your belly!). Soft speak falls flat when you have only your voice to communicate with.
- Direct: Be direct. Know what you want to say and how you want to say it before you even pick up the phone. Be sure to be clear and concise. If you need, jot down some key points to help you stay on track.
- Pleasant: Balance your volume and directness with a pleasant genuine bright tone. People can tell when you’re ‘smiling’ over the phone!
- Definite: Be definite in how you are handing the communication. Know what you want the outcome to be. Speak with a definite purpose.
