Be WITH your audience, not separate from them. Now, this doesn’t mean you need to physically go walk among them (although it’s wonderful if you actually can!). Truly be with them in your approach, your intention & your energy. It doesn’t matter if the room is filled with two hundred people or two people. Take the spotlight off yourself and put it on your audience. After all, it’s not about you…it’s about *them*! How can you help them, inspire them, educate them, motivate them and maybe even entertain them? What is their need? What is their concern? Think of yourself as one of them – not a removed and disconnected entity in front of them. Always look for ways to relate, speak their language, walk in their shoes. It should be a conversation. No one wants to be presented at! Don’t just push out information. Pull them in with stories and analogies. Find ways to enjoy being among them. Be in the moment with them.
Make your audience your priority. Forget about yourself and focus on how you can give them value and be of service. That is always the goal!
Feeling connected to your audience will increase your Calmfidence® as well as your credibility.
