5 ways to OWN your day with Calmfidence®

1-You snooze you loose! But why? It’s so toasty and warm and I just need 5 more minutes! When you hit that snooze button you are telling your subconscious I’m not ready, I don’t want to tackle this day. You literally start your day by putting things off. Set your clock for a designated wake up time and stick to it. You’ll launch into your day more definitive.

2-Set the tone for your day. The first things you do as you awake lay the foundation for your day. Checking email and social media before you even get out of bed can bombard you with Information overload and take away the clean slate feeling of a fresh new morning in seconds. It can make you feel dread before you clear your head! Resist the urge and replace it with a more empowering habit.

3-Cultivate the one habit that has an incredibly powerful effect – Gratitude- yeah you’ve heard it before but studies show running down a mental list of things you are grateful for before you get out of bed can have an enormous effect on your psyche throughout the entire day. Even when times are tough reminding yourself of just 2-3 things that are good or right in your world will help balance you a little more heading into a new day.

4- The shower is an inspirational place. The warmth, the cleanse, and finally the invigoration help your body & mind emerge into a new day. It’s the perfect time and place to visualize the day you WANT to have. See it going smooth. Envision the outcomes you want. Meditate & create, don’t just wait to react to what the day may bring.

5- Plan your day by the hour the best you can. Schedule in slots for YOU time. Be it exercise, a few moments of silence, a call or meeting with a friend, quality time with those you care about, or uninterrupted time for a project or chore, the more you plan out your day in compartments the more likely you are able to get the things done that are important to you. Instead of saying “I don’t have time” replace it with “It’s not a priority” and see how that feels. If that statement doesn’t sit well with you you’ll know it’s one of the things you need to actively schedule in order to make it happen.
